Yesim is a graphic, web and multimedia designer.

Before founding Backyard Design in Toronto with Jenny Francis, Yesim has lived and worked in Istanbul, London and Halifax. Her background in theatre and years of experience in inter-disciplinary projects have shaped her unique approach to graphic design. She is best known for her unusual and elegant design work for CD packaging for which she was recently awarded. She thrives on working with innovative people from diverse creative backgrounds.

As a multimedia artist Yesim worked in collaboration with the award winning saxophonist and composer Jane Bunnett, Ensemble Meduse, David Buchbinder and Lusiana Lukman. Her work has been shown in festivals and venues such as the Sound Symposium (Newfoundland), Festival of the Sound (Parry Sound), IdeaCity, AGO, the Music Gallery (Toronto) and McGill University (Montreal).

Jenny is a licensed architect and a graphic designer.

She has lived and worked in New York, London, Helsinki, Rome, and now Toronto, designing award-winning projects including homes, boutique hotels, offices and cultural institutions for visionary clients. Her approach to design values thoughtful simplicity, pleasure and craftsmanship. She strives with every project to engage the most meaningful aspects of its context, and to create beautiful modern spaces and things, whether it be a new building or a letter-pressed album cover. The integration of these scales of work is central to her work.
